LTI DataComm, Inc. Launches Mini Accelerator
LTI DataComm, Inc. launches an Ethernet and Serial version of the Mini Accelerator Deployable Network Optimization Device. The serial version was designed primarily to satisfy the bandwidth demands of forward deployed military personnel whose communications are frequently restricted by the unavailability of high speed secure satellite circuits. The Ethernet version offers the convenience and flexibility of two different deployment options. On-LAN connects the 3000E non-obtrusively to a switch or router and On-Path connects the 3000E between the LAN segment and the router.
Reston, VA August 9, 2004 -- LTI DataComm, Inc., a veteran owned small business and leader in providing strategic communications and networking solutions to the government market today announced the immediate availability of the MiniACCELERATOR Deployable Network Optimization Device. The Mini is available in both Serial (Mini 3000S) and Ethernet (Mini 3000E) models.
"The serial version was designed primarily to satisfy the bandwidth demands of forward deployed military personnel whose communications are frequently restricted by the unavailability of high speed secure satellite circuits," stated Matt Miller, Lead Project Engineer for the Mini. By providing a direct serial connection into various encryption devices, the Mini can accelerate secure traffic by as much as 400% and more. This means that for certain applications, a typical 64kbps Inmarsat link may perform like a 256Kbps or 384kbps link.
The Ethernet version offers the convenience and flexibility of two different deployment options. On-LAN connects the 3000E non-obtrusively to a switch or router and On-Path connects the 3000E between the LAN segment and the router.
"Either configuration affords the user enhanced network performance and traffic acceleration," noted Eric Olson, Technical Engineer for the Mini Project.
The MiniACCELERATOR was modeled after and designed with the same network optimization and traffic management technology that powers the highly successful Expand Networks Accelerator family of products. Licensed and developed in conjunction with Expand Networks through its Powered By Expand OEM program, the mini has been thoroughly tested for compatibility and performance. The Minis offer the same award winning feature sets as the Expand Accelerators, including next-generation compression, application acceleration, traffic discovery, Layer 7 monitoring and QoS.
